Wellness Exams & Sick Care

Your pet’s health is ever-evolving — in one year for us, cats and dogs age 4-5 years. A lot can change in what seems like a short time! Routine exams help us keep up with your pet’s changing needs so we can deliver more personalized medicine that suits their lifestyle.

WELLNESS SERVICES

Great veterinary wellness care must be customized to each pet at their particular life stage. For example, 6-month old Black Lab puppy has completely different wellness needs than a 13-year old Chihuahua. Through examination and communication, our veterinarians learn your pets' unique needs and build wellness and treatment plans specifically for them.

We will ask you many questions about what you've observed at home and if you have any specific concerns about your pet's health. Next, we perform a comprehensive exam, including physical condition and blood tests. We then sit down with you to explain any diagnosis we've reached and explain our recommended treatment plan.  We're happy to spend as much time as needed to answer any and all questions or concerns you may have.

Preventative medicine is incredibly valuable. Our veterinarians strongly advocate following the latest vaccine protocols for your pet to prevent diseases such as canine parvovirus (CPV), canine distemper virus (CDV), canine adenovirus (CAV), leptospirosis, and rabies. We also recommend oral or topical medications to prevent heartworms, fleas, and ticks. From time to time, we'll perform blood screening to monitor your pets liver, kidney and other systems to identify and treat any problems as early as possible. We'll make recommendations regarding diet, supplements, and exercise.  Lastly, we can provide guidance and counseling regarding any behavior problems your pet may exhibit to help reverse any behavior problems your pet may begin to exhibit.
